She is a microbiologist by the UAB in Catalunya, Spain; former MSc in Advanced Microbiology by UB in Barcelona. She has experience in Environmental and Clinical Microbiology. She spent a month as a lecturer assistant in Environmental Microbiology laboratory class helping the teacher to prepare and perform the experiments for the students. To proceed her final degree thesis, she also spent 3 months as a research assistant in the Environmental Centre of Wales (Bangor University) studying the microbial biomass in Soil samples of the Atacama Desert. The obtained data was used to submit a publication to the international journal Soil Biology & Biochemistry. Back in Spain she has the opportunity to be a student researcher in the Innate immunity and Critic patient pathology Department in the IDIBELL (Institut d’Investigació Biomèdica de Bellvitge) being able to take part in a project related to the role of natural antibodies in infection processes (Antibody Dependent Enhancement). they also undertook a project based on the depletion of natural antibodies as a mechanism of increased immunity. Because of these studies, she has an article in peer reviewing phase. In order to carry out her Masters thesis, she is now studying the he relation between the intestinal microbiota development and the formation of natural antibodies in animal models. This last study is being performed in IDIBELL as well.
Clinical microbiology and specifically on the infection immunology, inflammatory response in sepsis and intestinal microbiota.
