Dr. Allan J. Guimaraes got his Bachelorís in Pharmacy at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2003), Masterís in Cellular and Molecular Biology at FundaÁ„o Oswaldo Cruz (2006), Masterís in Biomedical Sciences (2008) and PhD in Biomedical Sciences at the Albert Einstein College Of Medicine (2010). He did his Post Doc training in Microbiology and Immunology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (2010-2011) and at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2011-2013). He is currently a Professor of Microbiology and Principal Investigator in the Laboratory of Biochemistry and Immunology of Mycosis in the Department of Microbiology and Parasitology at the Fluminense Federal University, Brazil. Dr. Guimaraes has expertize on Microbiology, in the fields of Medical Microbiology, Medical Biochemistry, Microbial Biochemistry, Immmunology and Mycology. He is also specialist on the production of antibodies, including polyclonal, monoclonal and engineered antibodies, vaccination, protein expression in prokaryote and eukaryote systems and production of fusion and chimeric proteins and characterization of their antimicrobial activity. Currently, Dr Guimaraes coordinates several scientific projects exploring host-parasites interactions, mechanisms of fungal virulence and pathogenesis, mentoring undergraduate, Masters and PhD students in his Laboratory. Dr. Guimaraes also serves as board member to Scientific International Indexed Journals and Scientific Committees.
