Biography

Dr. René Hernán Parada Vásquez, originally from San Miguel, El Salvador, Central America. He graduated from Medical School at University of El Salvador. He performed his residency in ophthalmology at the Escuela Superior de Oftalmología at University Francisco Marroquin in Guatemala. He did an Anterior Segment Surgery Fellowship at Vision Institute, Hospital La Carlota at the University of Montemorelos in Nuevo León, Mexico. He has an expert title in contact lens science and refractive surgery from the University Isabel I de Castilla in Burgos, Spain. Dr. Parada has had excellent training in microsurgery of the anterior segment and disease. He has done more than 120 courses, diplomas and workshops in ophthalmology, with emphasis in the area of the anterior segment. Furthermore, he has participated as a speaker for studies and clinical cases at different meetings and international conferences. Dr. Parada is the author of over 54 peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals published in Mexico, Argentina, Spain and the United States. He has been invited as a reviewer for different ophthalmology journals on several occasions.
