Gheorghe V. Goran (DVM, PhD) I’m Lecturer, Department of Toxicology and Food Toxicology, Bucharest University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine – Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. I graduated Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of UASVM of Bucharest in 1999. In 2000 I graduated Postgraduate Studies in veterinary medicine and in 2002 Master of Science, Veterinary Clinics and pharmacy, both in FVM of Bucharest. I also completed my PhD studies in Veterinary Medicine in Bucharest of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine – Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. As a PhD student, I gained a Scholarship from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Swedish Agricultural University, Department of Animal and Environmental Hygiene, Skara – Sweden. My publications include 2 books as author, 4 books as co-author, four chapters as co-author in a treaty, and over 130 articles in peer-reviewed journals or communications in symposiums and congresses. I practiced veterinary medicine - Toxicology in FVM Bucharest for the past 17 years, during which time I have been actively training undergraduate students in Toxicology at FVM Bucharest and have been presented with the Teaching and Research “Carol Davila” Award for Young Faculty Staff twice (2002 and 2003). I continue to teach Toxicology and Food toxicology in Bucharest University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine – Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (since 1999). I am a member of the Romanian College of Veterinary Surgeons, and Romanian Society for Trace Elements in Medicine. I have experience as a member of the research team in 9 national and 2 international programmes/projects. I participated to symposiums on veterinary academic education organized by the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education conducted in different faculties of veterinary medicine as Dublin (2001), Thessaloniki (2002), Toulouse (2003 ), Lugo (2004), Vienna (2005), Warsaw (2005), Ghent (2006), Konya (2007), and the World Congress of Veterinary Higher Education - Mexico City (2003).
