In 2002, he finish his degree in Biology, specializing in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC, Spain). Later he belonged to the first promotion of the Higher Degree in Biotechnology at the USC (2005). In 2009, he obtain the Master in Biotechnological Engineering, specializing in Industrial Biotechnology and 2011 he got his PhD in Biotechnology at the Faculty of Pharmacy (USC). During 3 years (2012-2015) he formed part of the Enzyme Research team in the RIKEN (Japan).
His Field of experience is based on bacterial enzymology and biochemistry, currently research interest is focused on antibacterial compounds, especially antimicrobial peptides.
