Dr. Tibor Karoly FABIAN, DMD, Ph.D. was graduated as a dentist at the Semmelweis University, Faculty of Dentistry (1990; summa cum laude) in Budapest, Hungary; and started to work at the Clinic of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry. He was Max-Planck research fellow (1992) of the Max-Planck Institute for Biophysics (Frankfurt am Main, Germany) and worked at the II. Institute of Physiology of the University of Saarland/Germany. Later, he became a Ph.D. research fellow of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and finished his Ph.D. thesis in 1999. From 1999 he started to work in the Clinic of Prosthetic Dentistry of the Semmelweis University Budapest, and became an associate professor in 2007. He is specialized in advanced general dentistry (1994) and in cariology, endodontics and prosthetic dentistry (2005). He is also graduated as psychotherapist (2000) and as a teacher of religious education (2002). Later, in 2012 he moved to Denmark and started to work as general dental employee. From 2016 he works as a general dental practitioner in his own private dental clinic in Odense, Denmark. He published 63 articles (17 in English; 2 in German; 44 in Hungarian), 3 edited books (1 in English; 2 in Hungarian), 3 monographs (3 in English) and 44 chapters (12 in English; 32 in Hungarian).
His research interest includes General dentistry; Restorative and prosthetic dentistry; Dental implantology; Dental fear and the treatment of oral psychosomatic disorders. He is also interested in certain aspects of saliva research.
