Currently a member of the faculty of the Department of Dentistry at Taif University, Mohammed Fahmi, BDS, CAGS, DScD, has established a reputation for expertise in the field of Prosthodontics, operative and esthetic dentistry. He is equally renowned for his leadership in serving as Chair of Restorative Sciences & Biomaterials, the Research Committee, Dental Laboratories Committee, and the Staff Development Committee at the University. Whether at the helm of organizational development, making new inroads in dental research and higher education, serving as a professional consultant or building the strength and solidity of key personnel, Dr. Fahmi has brought distinction to the profession. Among the many distinguished positions held, he has served as a General Dentist for four years at two noted Saudi health care centers (Ministry of Health), Guwaize Primary Health Care and Al-thagher Hospital, both Within the Ministry of Health in Jeddah. He then successfully completed residencies in several subfields at Boston University honing an exceptional array of clinical skills. He then moved on to serve as a Consultant in Prosthodontic, Operative and Esthetic Dentistry.at North Jeddah Specialty Dental Center from 2012-2016. In addition to the provision of sought-after consultation services, Dr. Fahmi was a Supervisor of the Saudi Board of Restorative Dentistry teaching post-doctoral clinical courses, served on the Ethics Research Committee overseeing the effectiveness of risk procedures, was Program Director for the Saudi Board of Prosthodontics at North Jeddah Specialty Dental Center, teaching and shaping the curriculum for post-doctoral fellows. As Director of the dental lab, his responsibilities included oversight of all aspects of the labs, including equipment, employees, supplies, documentation and software As his career advanced, Dr. Fahmi was appointed as an Assistant Professor at Batarji Medical College, where he served as both faculty and senior administrator in the planning and conduct of pre-clinical and advanced clinical courses in Prosthodontics and Dental Material at the pre-doctoral level using modern pedagogical strategies. His accomplishments in each professional role have been formidable and of great value to the respective institutions as a whole. Dr. Fahmiís contributions to research have made new inroads through his numerous national and international presentations, well as several abstract publications for the International Association of Dental Research (IADR). His internal conference presentations have been recognized through prestigious awards to include First Prize (twice) at the Annual Remo A. Sinibaldi Table Clinic Competition sponsored by the Massachusetts Section of the American College of Prosthodontists, being selected as an Arthur Frechette Award Finalist at the International Association of Dental Research in Toronto, Canada. He was also awarded a Second Place Poster Presentation Award at the 80th Annual Meeting of The American Prosthodontic Society USA and Second Prize at the Annual Oral Competition sponsored by the Massachusetts Section of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP). 5 With academic training that includes a Doctor of Science in Dentistry from Boston University in January 2012, and Certifications in Advanced Graduate Study in Prosthodontics, Operative and Esthetic Dentistry, Dr. Mohammed Fahmi is not only a field leader, outstanding faculty member, proven consultant and researcher, and comprehensive expert in several dental fields, he has committed himself to a career of ongoing learning and committed contribution.
