Dr. Zheng Zhang has been working in the field of biomaterials for controlled drug delivery and regenerative medicine for over 15 years. He has worked at top Institutes in Europe, Japan, and US, in both academic and industrial settings. Dr. Zhang’s expertise includes synthesis of functional, biodegradable and biocompatible polymers with rich design in architecture, “click” chemistry, formulation of drug-encapsulated matrices e.g., nano- and micro-sized drug carriers and hydrogels for intravenous, topical/transdermal, and local (post-lumpectomy and ocular implants) drug delivery applications, and bioengineering of scaffold-cell complexes for regeneration of osteochondral interface, full thickness human skin equivalents, tooth, and blood vessels. Dr. Zhang has co-authored 22 papers and 8 abstracts in well recognized Journals, and 7 book chapters. Dr. Zhang’s total citation > 1000 times, and his high-index = 18. Dr. Zhang have contributed to numerous proposals, and established successful records from both DoD and NIH.
Dr. Zhang is a senior scientist working at Mosaic Biosciences. Prior to his current position, Dr. Zhang was a research Assistant Professor working at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. He served as a leading researcher in RESBIO (NIH P41 EB001046, funded by the NIBIB Biomedical Technology Resource Centers), and P.I. of the Armed Forces Institute of Regenerative Medicine (AFIRM) project entitled “Advanced Bone Repair Using Molecular Surface Design”.
