Dr. Alberto Zani is a senior researcher of the Institute of Molecular Bioimaging and Physiology of the Italian National Research Council (CNR-IBFM) located in Milan where he directs the state-of-the-art “Cognitive Neuroscience Electro-Functional Brain Imaging unit”. Having wide interests, his research activity is concerned with the study of mind and brain interrelationships as reflected by EEG and event-related potentials (ERPs), as well as their cerebral source reconstruction, besides fMRI signals, from cognitive neurosciences and cognitive-psychological sciences perspectives. With this aim, he investigates visuo-cognitive perceptual, attentional, and language functions as well as the so-called mirror-neuron-systems-based affective functions of the human brain to unveil neural networks dynamic activations and connections underlying these functions.
