Dr. Junyan Tao is a Research Assistant Professor at Department of Pathology at UPMC. He formerly worked directly under my supervision here at UCSF as an NIH-sponsored, postdoctoral fellow.
He received his Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from Huazhong University from 2004 to 2007. His previous study is about anti-inflammation ingredients from traditional medicine. During that time, he had isolated several compounds and test various herb extract. He published more than 20 papers in leading medicine biology, medicine chemistry and traditional pharmacology journals such as Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Oncotarget, Int J Immunopathol Pharmacol，Evidence Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Phytotherapy Research, Eur J Pharmacol. These publications have been cited more than 300 times by peers worldwide.
Meanwhile, he did many review work for several years, including BMC Cancer, BMC ophthalmology, Journal of chromatography B, Archiv der Pharmazie, Journal of Medicinal Plants Research, Pharmaceutical Biology, Chinese Journal of Chromatography.
And He is the member of Hubei Provincial Institute of Biological Engineering, member of the Chinese Society for Microbiology.
Liver cancer, including oncogene induced mice model, or various virus infection liver cancer, such as HBV, HCV. Meanwhile, he is also interested in discovering some natural products from microbiology, Chinese medicine fermented by some fungi, and their pharmacology study.
