Dr. Shankar works as a Research Professor at Department of Food Engineering, Mokpo National University. He has worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai, Thailand and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University, Melbourne Australia. He has finished a doctoral degree in Biotechnology from National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India and Master degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from Indian Agriculture Research Institute, New Delhi, India. His research interests include nanocomposite based antimicrobial food packaging, nanoparticle-mediated gene delivery in microorganisms, antimicrobial agents, bacterial proteomics, protein and enzyme production from micro-organisms. His research area involves the interdisciplinary field of science, including microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and engineering. He has published various research papers and review articles in prestigious peer-reviewed journals. He is an active reviewer for many journals in the field of material science, microbiology, and protein biochemistry.
