Dr. Subhasish Chakraborty is working as Senior Research Scientist at Carnegie Mellon University. He did his PhD in Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science (agricultural chemicals) from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, India and had the opportunity to work on residue, degradation and chemistry of some synthetic and natural pesticides. Prior to PhD degree he also did undergraduate in Agricultural Sciences and Masterís in Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science from the same University. Last 20 years of his research career he worked on both Agrochemical industry as well as Academic Research. He has a broad knowledge and expertise on agrochemicals, environmental fate and metabolism of pesticides, Agricultural sciences, Toxicology, Soil Science, synthetic organic chemistry, process chemistry, Molecular Biosensor, Nano-technology, Drug discovery, etc. He has designed and synthesized numerous fluorescent organic molecular probes and developed imaging technologies to study the network and pathway in living cells andhas several patents.
