Dr. Renato Silva has an agronomy degree from University of Sao Paulo – Brazil, as well as master degree in statistics and design of experiments and doctoral degree in Genetics and Plant Breeding. He did post doc at Department of Agronomy - University of Wisconsin Madison, USA. Nowadays, he is a professor of Institute of Mathematics and Statistics - Federal University of Goias, Brazil.
His research interest is the development of the statistical methods with application in genetics and plant breeding. Specifically, he has been investigating statistical genetic methods regards to: genome-wide association studies and prediction of complex traits with emphasis in plant genetics.
