Dr. Kursat Demiryurek is an associate professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Ondokuz Mayis University, Samsun, Turkey. He got BSc and MSc from Ankara University on Agricultural Economics. He did his PhD from Faculty of Education and Community Studies, Agricultural Extension and Rural Development Department of Reading University, England. His PhD thesis was about Agricultural Information Systems. He has professional experiences in rural extension and communication, information systems, social network analysis, organic agriculture, rural distance education and women entrepreneurships. He has more than 100 publications in different conferences, national and international journals, booklets and books. He has experiences in several courses (agricultural extension and communication, social research methods, statistics for social sciences, entrepreneurship, rural sociology, rural development and environmental economics) with undergraduate and postgraduate students at Ondokuz Mayis University. He involved several international scientific courses in England, Germany, Russia, Turkey and Israel. He serves as an expert in United Nations (FAO and UNDP) and European Union projects. He has several scientific and farmer training projects. He has also scientific European (i.e. Erasmus and Leonardo) mobility programs with France, Germany and Czech Republic.
