José Roberto Wajman is a Clinical Neuropsychologist with master’s degree and Ph.D in Neurosciences and Behavioral Neurology. He completed his Research fellowship at the Translational Neuroimaging Laboratory (TNL) at the McGill Centre for Studies in Aging (MCSA), Post-doctoral at the Behavioral and Cognitive Neurology Unit from the Hospital das Clínicas, University of São Paulo (FMUSP) - Brazil. Dr. Wajman currently works as an affiliate professor at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP) – Brazil, leading academic and assistential projects at the advanced dementia outpatient clinic. Wajman’s research interests include the Neuropsychology of Alzheimer’s disease and other degenerative dementias, adaptationand normalization of functional and cognitive protocols; qualitative analysis of verbal fluency strategies during the aging process and dementia early onset; the cortisol effect on the hippocampus atrophy and its consequence over cognitive performance, and epidemiologic investigation on the lifestyle habits as a risk factor for developing dementia in Alzheimer’s disease close relatives.
