Dr. Shailendra K Verma (PhD) is Scientist-D (senior scientist) at Defence Research and Development Establishment, Gwalior, India. Dr Verma received his PhD in Biotechnology from Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, India. Dr. Verma completed postdoctoral research at University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska USA and University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis, USA. His current research area focussed onto the pathogenesis of Y. pestis in small animal model and to develop vaccine and therapeutics against plague. Dr. Verma also had been a principal investigator of various projects; identification of immunodominant antigens and their characterization as subunit vaccine candidates against Typhoid, Brucellosis and viral agents like Japanese encephalitis and Dengue virus in mouse model. Dr Verma published a number of articles in international journals and editorial board member of many international journals.
Dr. Verma’s research interests include development of subunit vaccines against plague and protein-protein interactions (Y. pestis-host macrophages). Working on protein based Immuno-modulators.
