Biography

Dr. Marcano currently maintains his private practice in the Unit of Medical Microbiology in Angios Vascular Center as Medical Microbiologist diagnosing and treating patients with various infectious diseases difficult to manage, in parallel with his activities as Educational Attached of the Faculty of Medicine the Central University of Venezuela (JM Vargas School of Medicine).

Within the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Marcano has held positions as Medical Manager for Hepatitis C and previously as Chief Medical Officer for Specialty Care (Abbott Laboratories), Medical Scientific Liaison (Stendhal) and Medical Research Manager Phase IV (Novartis), and he has been a member of respected national and international Advisory Boards and Principal Investigator at the national and international levels; in addition to continuing as an active infectious and allergic diseases research, biofilm disease, chronic osteomyelitis, diabetic foot infections, bacterial resistance, autoimmune disease associated with Helicobacter pylori infection, emerging parasitosis; with over 10 years experience in the private practice of Medical Microbiology and over 15 years as a teacher at the UCV (undergraduate and postgraduate various medical specialties). He also has been active in the management of cancer patients as Assistant Specialist in Internal Medicine and Oncology Infectious Diseases Unit Luis Razetti Cancer Institute.

You are a number of presentations and publications at national and international level and their research has been recognized by the American Society for Microbiology as LatinAmerican Fellow at New York University (2004) and numerous medical and scientific societies.
