Biography

Dr. Kamel graduated from Cairo University in 1995 and went on to gain a Master’s in 1999 followed by a Medical Doctorate in 2002, both in Pulmonology. Within the chest department at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, he progressed from Resident, to Assistant Lecturer, to Lecturer, to Assistant Professor before becoming Professor of Pulmonology in 2013. His areas of interest are mainly Airway diseases and Interventional Pulmonology.

A member of the Egyptian Society of Chest Diseases and Tuberculosis, the Egyptian Society of Chest Diseases and Asthma, the European Respiratory Society and a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP), Dr. Kamel has attended various international conferences and workshops worldwide.

He has Academically supervised many Master degree and Doctorate thesis in his department and has Scientific papers published in several International online, National and Regional journals, such as Elsevier publishing company (home of the Egyptian Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, the Egyptian Journal of Chest diseases and Tuberculosis) and the Egyptian Journal of Cairo university.

Chest diseases; Diagnostic and Interventional Bronchoscopy (Electrocautery, Argon plasma coagulation, TBNA, Endobronchial ultrasound and Airway stenting); ICU Skills including New modes of mechanical ventilation; Pulmonary function testing and Provocation studies; Medical Thoracoscopy.
