Dr. Alma Lilian Guerrero Barrera is working in Morphology Department at Basic Sciences Center, Autonomous University of Aguascalientes (UAA), Mexico. She is a Biologist from the National School of Biological Sciences of the National Institute Polytechnic (IPN), 1992. She did her Master of Sciences and Doctor of Sciences in Cell Biology from the CINVESTAV (Research Center of Advanced Studies, Mexico) of IPN 1999; Postdoctoral Cell Biology at the Institute of Biotechnology of the UNAM (Mexican National Autonomous University), 1999 -2001. She is a Sabbatical in the laboratory of Dr. Mario Jacques, of the Research Group on respiratory diseases in pigs (GREMIP), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Montreal 2009, supported by the CONACYT (Mexican National Council for Science and Technology). She is also an SNI (National Research System of Mexico) member since 1996 Researcher Level I.
She is addressed as the Best Doctoral Thesis UAA 2009, "Interaction of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae in vitro with endothelial cells of pig aorta". She is also Head of the Department of Morphology, UAA.
She has 36 articles indexed in international journals, 5 items indexed in national magazines, 1 front page in Microbiology, UK, January 2013. She is an Honorable Mention in the National Photography Contest CONACYT 2013. She did her Diploma in Intellectual Property from January to June 2013, UAA; Graduated in the use of ICT in teaching and digitization of content, from June to December 2013, UAA. She has done her Course Introduction to the UPOV system of plant variety protection under the UPOV Convention, November to December 2013, UPOV. She is member of the American Society for Microbiology since 1993.
She has directed nine master's thesis, 9 doctoral thesis, 16 undergraduated thesis and is currently Director of 6 doctoral thesis. She has been invited as a reviewer external doctoral thesis at the University of Catalonia, Spain.
