Dr. Haroon obtained the degree of Bachelors in Dental Surgery from Baqai University Karachi, Pakistan in 2004. After graduation, he worked in a private dental practice for a couple of years and went on to the United Kingdom for his post-graduation and specialist training in clinical dentistry. He spent two years in Leeds Teaching Hospitals, Leeds (NHS, UK) and completed his clinical training in Restorative Dentistry which included extensive clinical work in Endodontics, Periodontics & Prosthodontics in particular. During his post graduation period, he worked on a masterís research project which included extensive use of confocal laser scanning microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. He carried out evaluation of the different ceramic surface finishes and compared different polishing techniques used in clinical dentistry. He was awarded with the degree of Master of Dental Science in 2008 from the University of Leeds. After returning to his home country, he started his academic career and established state of the art private dental practice in 2009 and has been regularly involved in teaching of undergraduate and post graduate dental students. He has conducted several training workshops on Implant Dentistry, Fixed and Removable prosthodontics nationwide and has published several research papers in national and international journals. He is also a peer reviewer for many journals including Material Characterization (Elsevier), Advances in Material Science and Engineering (Hindwai Publishing), Journal of Pakistan Dental Association and Journal of College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan. Dr Haroon is a member of British Society of Restorative Dentistry, Pakistan Dental Association and Pakistan Prosthodontic Association. Currently teaching at the College of Dentistry, Ziauddin University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics, he enjoys a great variety of challenges in his busy clinical private practice every day.
