Dr. Carlos Encarnación graduated in 1986 from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. He did his internal medicine internship and residency at the San Juan VA Hospital, where he later served as Chief Resident for a year. He then trained in Medical Oncology with emphasis on breast cancer at UT Health Center San Antonio. Dr. Encarnación has been with Texas Oncology in Waco, TX for the last 2 decades where he served as Director of the Cancer Program, Chief of Medicine, and Chief of Medical Staff at Providence Health Center. He currently is the USON Research Leader at the TX Oncology Waco site and a member of the TX Oncology/US Oncology Genetic Risk Evaluation and Treatment Program.
