Biography

I am Research Associate in the Mineral and Bone Metabolism Research Unit, directed by Prof Jorge Cannata-Andia in Hospital Universitario Central de Asturias, Oviedo, Spain. I am a Biochemist and I did my Doctoral Thesis (PhD), entitled “Effects of phosphate overload in secondary hyperparathyroidism, vascular calcification and bone loss” in the Mineral and Bone Metabolism Research Unit- Department of Medicine, University of Oviedo, supervised by Profs. Jorge Cannata-Andia and Manuel Naves-Diaz.

I worked in Cambridge, UK as a postdoctoral fellow, studying “Endocrine Implications of Mineralized Tissue", in Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute. Briefly, I have published in journals such as JCI, Science, Bone, JASN, Endocrinology, Coronary Artery Disease and NDT.


Research Interest

My main research interest is the study of vascular calcification, using clinical data, animal models of disease, human cell biology and transcriptomics.
