Dr Mala Bhalla is associate professor in the Department of Dermatology in Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh, India. She did her MBBS from Guru Gobind Singh Medical College, Faridkot, India in 1995 and her MD Dermatology in 1999 from Rajindera Hospital, Patiala, India. She has been associated with the dermatology department at Government Medical College, Sector 32 Chandigarh since 2000 where she became Assistant Professor in 2004 and Associate Professor in 2010. In addition to patient care, she teaches undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. She has obtained formal training in medical education through a two year FAIMER fellowship. She is also a trainer for the Singapore India Group Networking for Empowerment Training (SIGNET) for enhanced health care management.
Research interests are pigmentary disorders, leprosy, pediatric dermatology and psychocutaneous disorders. She has published more than 35 papers in reputed international and national journals with more than 300 cross citations and is serving as a peer reviewer for various medical journals.
