Dr. Xiaoyong Huang is an Associated Professor and Vitreoretinal Surgeon, Manager of the 1st vitreoretinal surgical team, Southwest Eye Hospital, Southwest Hospital, Chongqing, China. He is a Member of Chinese Neuro-ophthalmology Society, The Chinese Ophthalmological Society, a Member of Youth Council, Ophthalmological Society, Chongqing Medical Association, and a Member in American Association of Ophthalmology.He was a Bachelor of Medicine in 1995, Master of Ophthalmology in 2000, and Ph.D. in Ophthalmology in 2005, all in Third Military Medical University. After his Ophthalmology Residency in Southwest Eye Hospital, He completed his training as a vitreoretinal surgeon in 2009. He has practiced Ophthalmology in affiliated hospital of Third Military Medical University for the past 20 years. He has also completed Wills International Scholar Program at Wills Eye Hospital in 2013 and observer program at Scheie Eye Institute, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, University of Pennsylvania in 2014.His publications include 2 book chapters, 2 patents and over 20 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Research work is focus on the differentiation properties of optic cup-derived retinal stem cells, which was supported by two grants from the Natural Science Foundation of China (Grant No. 30600662 and 31071202). His hobbies include swimming, playing badminton and traveling.
