Biography

Prof. Bhanudas Kisan More graduated (B. V. Sc. & A. H.) from Bombay Veterinary College, Parel, Mumbai in the year 1979. Subsequently, he did his Post graduation (M. V. Sc.) and doctorate (Ph. D.) in Veterinary Pathology from Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani and University of Agricultural Sciences, Banglore (India) respectively in the years 1987 and 1995. He was rank holder all through out his career and bagged Gold medal for post graduate studies and prestigious Senior Research Fellowship of Indian Council of Agricultural Research New Delhi for his doctorate studies. He started his career at the All India Coordinated Research Project on Goats for Mohair production where he was responsible for health and reproduction of 2000 goats for over 8 years. Then subsequently he joined newly established KNP College of Veterinary Science, Shirwal (India), where he played crucial role in the establishment of college and initiation of graduate and post graduate studies. Here he worked in various capacities from Assistant Professor to Professor and Head, Department of Veterinary Pathology, Pharmacology and Toxicology from 1988 till today. His students are spread across globe from Shirwal to Harvard. He taught Biochemistry, Pathology, Avian Pathology, Oncology, Toxicopathology, Laboratory and Wild life Pathology, Clinical pathology, Forensic Pathology, Molecular Pathology. He has to his credit over 35 research articles published in National and International Journals, and presented over 65 research papers and several lead papers in National and International Conferences/Symposia/Workshops. He has organized two National and two International conferences in India as an organizing secretary and attended over 35 National and International conferences in India and across globe. He was a Vice President of Society for Toxicopathology in India, Chairman of KNP Vet Alumni Association and Executive member of many more organizations. He is working as Reviewer of several research journals. He has advised over 40 post graduate students and 4 Ph. D. students. He was also actively involved in undergraduate instructions and produced over 700 Veterinary graduates. He is Active Life Member of Maharashtra Veterinary Association (MVA), Indian Veterinary Association (IVA), Indian Association of Veterinary Pathologists (IAVP), Indian Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Research (IAAVR), Indian Society for Nuclear Technology in Animal Sciences (ISNUTAS), Bombay Veterinary College Alumni Association, Commonwealth Veterinary Association (CVA), World Veterinary Association (WVA), Society for Toxicologic Pathology of India (STPI), International Federation of Society’s of Toxicopathology (IFST) and KNP Vet Alumni Association.


Research Interest

His research interest included Cancer, Influenza, Animal & Avian pathology, Infertility in farm animals due to residual toxicity, Mastitis in dairy animals, Toxicopathology, Histopathology, Immunohistochemistry, Genomic toxicity, Molecular Pathology, Virology, Immunology, Clinical Pathology etc. Presently he is working on sustainable Mastitis vaccine production project and Swine influenza.
