Dr. Lowell Ackerman received his Veterinary degree from the Ontario Veterinary College, and board certification from the American College of Veterinary Dermatology. In addition to his veterinary credentials, Dr. Ackerman also holds a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University, a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and a Certificate in Veterinary Practice Administration from Purdue University. He is the Veterinary Specialty Director at Zoetis and prior to that he was engaged in specialty practice, consulting, writing, and teaching. He has authored several books (including Five-Minute Veterinary Practice Management Consult, The Genetic Connection, and Atlas of Small Animal Dermatology), and has lectured extensively on a global basis, on topics in both medicine and management. Dr. Ackerman is a Member of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology, VetPartners (the Association of Veterinary Practice Management Consultants & Advisors), the American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology, the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association, the Canadian Academy of Veterinary Dermatology, the American Society of Journalists and Authors, the American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
