Biography

Dr. Goran Bačić was born in Zagreb 1964. He graduated at The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine University of Zagreb in 1990. In 1991, he employed at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine University of Zagreb as junior researcher at the scientific project “Developmental Biological Research of Decapod Crustacean of Croatia”. In 1991, he enrolled in postgraduate study “Theriogenology of domestic animals”. He did his Master thesis on “Morfometabolic Characteristics of Musculus Cremaster in Fattening Bulls” defended in 1994 and Doctoral thesis “Hormonal and Biochemical changes in Placental Fluids of Rabbits, defended in 1999. In 1995, he employed as Assistant at the Ambulatory Clinic and Clinic for obstetrics and Reproduction.

In 1999 and 2000, he attended multiple courses organized by World Bank, Croatian and Nederland Ministry of Agriculture on Herd Health and Productive Management topics. In 2003, he employed as Assistant Professor at the Clinic for Obstetrics and Reproduction, 2007 Associated Professor and 2011 Full time Professor at the same Clinic. In 2012, he attended international summer school “Bovine reproduction” in Split, Croatia. In recent years, he introduced minimally invasive gynecological surgery procedures as a part of team in a routine work of the Clinic of obstetrics and reproduction. Throughout his scientific-research work, he published more than hundred papers in Domestic and International journals, five textbooks. He participated in several International and Domestic conferences in the field of Reproduction of domestic animals and bovine mastitis. That part of education was finished at 2001 whole year specialization at Cornell Veterinary College, Ithaca, New York. At Cornell spent three more months as a visiting professor at 2002, 2003 and 2005.
