Dr. Obaidullah Malik is a Pharmacist by profession with Ph.D degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and having about 16 years professional experience in Pharmaceutical Regulations in Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP). During this period, he performed various tasks including monitoring of import and export of raw materials and finished drugs; cGMP auditing of manufacturing units; Post Marketing Surveillance of drugs; review and evaluation of applications (local manufactured and imported) for the grant of registration/marketing authorization of pharmaceuticals and medical devices; compliance and enforcement etc. He is also associated with a team involved in writing various regulatory frameworks and technical documents/policies related to compliance and enforcement, marketing authorizations/registrations, Pharmacovigilance. He also conducted over 200 inspections/audits of manufacturing facilities in Pakistan and abroad for pharmaceutical, biological and medical device manufacturing operations including Malaysia, Taiwan, Vietnam, China, South Korea and Kingdom of Saudia Arabia. He successfully completed various professional trainings Nationally and Internationally including 6 th Annual Quality Assessment Training (WHO Prequalification Team-Medicines) on review and evaluation of ICH agreed CTD based pharmaceutical dossiers in Copenhagen, Denmark. He also represented DRAP multiple times nationally and internationally at various regulators forums/meeting/summit.
He have been associated with various institutions/universities imparting graduate and post graduate pharmacy education as Member, Board of Studies and examiner for Pharm.D, M.Phil/MS and Ph.D programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences. He have been involved in teaching advanced courses and assisting students and associates of M.Phil/MS and Ph.D programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences in conducting their research. 18 research articles have been published in peer reviewed journals and also presented his work through posters and oral presentations in National and International conferences.
