Ismail Hakki Aydin, MD, Professor of Neurosurgery, received his medical degree at the Ataturk University of Erzurum, the fourth oldest University in the Turkey. After graduating from the Medical School, he completed residencies in Neurosurgery in Ataturk, Istanbul and Zurich Universities. In 1984, he accepted a position at the Ataturk University of Turkey as Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery and Director of the Neurosurgical Department of Medical School, and received full Professor of Neurosurgery in 1994. His chairmanship in this Department was very active until 2010. After this time, he transferred his position to a private University in Istanbul. He is the past President of the Nervous System Surgery Society, has some neurosurgical techniques and Sylvian Vein and Cistern Classification were published. For this reason he received more than thirty national and international prestigious awards in Neurosurgery. He has been very active in clinical and central nervous system research and contributed to more than 150 clinical neurosurgery, micro neurovascular, surgical techniques and experimental research publications on neuroscience. Also, he is the honorable and Invited Guest Lecturer of Scientific Congress in the many countries of the World. He is the Editorial Board of many scientific journals, and active member of more than twenty neuro scientific societies, including Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), American Heart Association (AHA) and European Stroke Science Council. Also, Prof. Dr. Ismail Hakki Aydin is the Iternational Ambassador of CNS since 1999.
