Biography

Elena Sorrentino received Degree in Agricultural Sciences at the University of Naples “Federico II”. She is an Associate Professor of Food Microbiology, Department of Agricultural, Environmental and Food Science, University of Molise, Italy. From 2011 to present, she is the President of Godiagnosticssrl, biotech spin-off of University of Molise and also from 2009 to present she is Researcher associate at ISA-CNR, Italy. She taught various courses including Food Microbiology and Microbial Biotechnology and is a Supervisor of more than 90 degree theses. She is a Member of the Council of Ph.D in Agricultural Technologies e Biotechnologies, University of Molise; Tutor of Ph.D students in Food Biotechnology and also Member of the Council of Ph.D in Food Biotechnology, University of Molise. She is author of 208 publications among with 71 papers on peer reviewed journals and 6 dissemination publications.

Microbial ecology of fermented foods; Interactions between microorganisms; Development of innovative techniques for the storage of highly perishable foods; Study of probiotic characteristics of probiotic bacteria isolated from food.
