Guilherme Padua Rodrigues is a Professor for 12 years, teaching at the undergraduate programs on Nutrition, Medical School and Food Engineering, also occupying administrative positions (Research coordinator, Collegiate president and Director). Main research lines are Public health and nutrition and Functional foods.
He was accountable for Nutrition and Scientific Affairs at Danone Brazil for 7 years, launching several new products with a functional and nutritional concept (Activia and Activia Juice, product which he owns the patent, Actimel and Densia). One of his highlight is NutriBrasil Study, the first national scale nutrition survey in Brazil, in partnership with 12 universities, permitted to develop Danoninho new formula based on scientific data. This survey also convinced Danone, the need for a Health Marketing Department, which he organized and led at its beginning. This coordinated action, with the study, the new formula and the communication oriented to pediatricians, took Danone from the 10th place in the world on Danoninho volume to the first global position among Danone CBU within a little more than 2 years.
At the launch of Bonafont Water, he created all the concepts around the product benefits, the supporting scientific material in partnership with UNIFESP medical school and the communication plan directed to doctors. Actually, he is the head of the regulatory and governmental affairs department at Syngenta Crop Protection do Brasil, with 7 managers with direct report. He published several papers and also he is co-author of 2 books in the nutrition field. He is a native Portuguese speaker, fluent in English and Spanish, and has intermediate knowledge of French and Italian.
