Professor Esam Elkhatib is a graduate of Suez canal University Medical School, Egypt, the first accredited medical school in Egypt. He has a Master Degree in General Surgery at Suez Canal University and a thesis on Somatosensory Evoked Potential in Lumbar Disc Surgery. He has a Doctoral Degree in Neurosurgery in Stereotactic Surgery of Brain Tumors and he is a joint research fellowship at Wayne State University medical school Neurosurgical Department in Stereotactic Surgery of Brain Tumors and Radiosurgery using Gamma Knife. He has been practicing since 1990, in Egypt and USA, the last 10 years in Egypt, Suez Canal University Hospitals, one of the largest groups of hospitals specialized in the area of Stereotactic surgery, Spine surgery including Spinal fixation, Tumor surgery and Brain tumors surgery. He has more than 60 publications in different neurosurgical fields, more than 30 presentations in meetings and more than 100 lectures. He is a Professor of Neurosurgery at Suez Canal University Medical School and a former medical school web page Director, Member of the accreditation committee, Supervisor of doctoral degree medical exams. He is a Member of the Education Committee at the medical school.
