Dr. Hector Chapa is a nationally (USA) and internationally recognized speaker, and published author, for advancement of women’s health care. He is a Board Certified Obstetrics and Gynaecology in private practice in Dallas, Texas. He currently serves as the medical director for the Women's Specialty Center in Oak Cliff and is involved in minimally invasive gynaecological research. He is a graduate of UT South western Medical School with specialty training at Parkland Memorial hospital. He serves as a member of the academic faculty at Methodist Medical Center Dallas, and serves as a peer reviewer for the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the Journal of Surgical Case Reports. He is a published author in office gynecologic surgery and was part of the FDA post approval study for the Essure 305 system. In 2013-2014, he was a clinical trial investigator for the Essure 505 investigational device. Additionally, he is a medical consultant to One Ethicon, Bayer Healthcare, Smith & Nephew, Inc. and Vermillion, Inc. He has authored the professional education content for obstetricians and gynecologists for these medical corporations. He has been an invited faculty member in South Africa, Israel, the European Union, The Netherlands, Norway and Canada due to his unique lecture style and passion for evidence based learning.
