Professor Dr. Dejan Markovic is permanently employed at the Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Belgrade since 1990, where he is a professor of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry and is a chief of the course entitled Dental care of patients with special needs. He also teaches at several Faculties of Dentistry in the region, such as Novi Sad (Serbia), Foca (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Podgorica (Monte Negro). He has been a head of the Centre for dental care of patients with special needs from 2001 to 2012, and a Vice-Dean for Health from 2006 to 2012, both at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Belgrade.
Dr. Dejan Markovic is an author of more than 120 papers published in scientific journals and more than 300 papers presented at national and international meetings. His citation index is 213 (Web of Science and Scopus databases). He is an author/co-author of eight textbooks in the field of paediatric and preventive dentistry, traumatology and dental materials.
Dr. Dejan Markovic was an organizer or an active participant in several scientific and professional meetings and a lecturer of more then 100 lectures. He supervised many studentsí scientific papers, graduate or specialisation final works, M.Sc theses and 10 Ph.D theses. He is also a member of editorial boards the Balkan Journal of Dental Medicine, EC Dental Science Journal, the Serbian Dental Journal, the Dentist, and is a reviewer of many scientific and professional papers. He has been a President of the Association of Paediatric and Preventive Dentists of Serbia since 2004. He is a member of many international and national professional associations, and so far he was granted with many professional and scientific awards.
