Dr. Rashima Asokan is currently an Assistant Professor at Elite School of Optometry and leads the occupational optometry services of Sankara Nethralaya. She has more than 15 years of experience. She is actively involved in clinical research in Glaucoma. She, along with the study team has published their works in many national and international peer-reviewed journals and currently holds more than 30 peer-reviewed publications. She also holds as a reviewer for international journals. She has presented at various national and international conferences and received awards. To name a few: The Young Scientist Award, the Golden Jubilee Award from the Indian Association of Occupational Health, and the Best Case Report Award from the Optometry Council of India. She is also a proud recipient of the Endeavor Executive Fellowship (Australia) and a competitive grant from the Glaucoma Foundation (The US). She is a member of the Indian Association of Occupational Health, Optometry Council of India, and Treasurer of Elite School of Optometry Alumni Association.
Dr. Rashima Asokan's research interests are Environmental effects on the eye, Glaucoma, Occupational ocular disorders, and Innovative education models in Optometry.
