Elijah I. Ohimain is a Professor of Bioenergy and Environmental Microbiology and the dean, faculty of Science, Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, Nigeria. Professor Ohimain has a B.Sc. in Microbiology, M.Sc. in Environmental & Public Health Microbiology, and a Ph.D. degree in Environmental Microbiology from the University of Benin, Nigeria, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Development from Staffordshire University, UK. Professor Ohimain has authored/co-authored over 200 publications. Professor Ohimain is an editorial board member for over 10 journals and a reviewer for over 100 journal titles. He is a member of several professional bodies including the Society of Wetland Scientists, Nigerian Environmental Society, American Society for Microbiology.
Dr. Elijah I. Ohimain's research is focused on bioenergy, veterinary and agricultural microbiology, environmental science, and petroleum microbiology. Recently, Professor Elijah Ohimain is focusing on environmental virology.
