Dr. Mubarak Oloduowo Ameen is a Reader in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria. He obtained his B. Sc. Chemistry at Bayero University Kano, M. Sc. and Ph.D. Chemistry at the University of Ilorin. He participated in the National University Commission of Nigeria’s Virtual Institute for Higher Education Pedagogy (NUC - VIHEP) from December 2003 to May 2004 where he obtained certificates on the various programs mounted by the institute during this period. He was awarded a Fulbright JSD scholarship tenable at the University of South Florida, USA, between 2011 and 2012. His research interest is in Medicinal, Natural Products, and Synthetic Chemistry. He is a fellow of the Chemical Society of Nigeria and Treasurer of the Kwara Chapter of the society. Member of the Society for the Conservation of Phytofuels and Allied Sciences (SCOPAS), Member of the Nigerian Society of the Experimental Biology (NISEB). A reviewer to some national and international journals and have also participated in several national and international conferences, symposia, and seminars.
Dr. Mubarak Oloduowo Ameen's research interests are Medicinal Chemistry, Spectroscopic Studies as well as Food Analysis. His present area of research focuses on the isolation of bioactive compounds of endophytic fungi in the treatment of human diseases.
