Dr. Shimelis Legesse Chala was graduated from the University of Gondar Faculty of Medicine and Health Science in BSc Midwifery, Ethiopia, in 2009, and He acquired a 2nd degree MPH in Health Service Management in 2014 from Jimma University, Ethiopia. He is currently a senior researcher, senior expert in Health Service Management and Health Planning in Jimma University Medical center (JUMC) and He has been published many articles in reputable journals in the area of clinical and health system development. He also worked as, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Administrative and Development Director, and Health monitoring and evaluation experts in different Organizations such as Fromsis Hospital, Jimma University Medical center, Ethiopia. He was experienced in leading an organization, an expert in developing a strategic plan and conducted research on areas of Human resource development for health and healthcare quality improvement, and has experience in the assessment of maternal neonatal and child health (MNCH) for public health facility. Overall, Mr. Shimelis has been working in Jimma University, Frimosis Hospital, and Rift Valley University for twelve and half years both as an academician, clinician, and leading of health institute. Furthermore, Mr. Shimelis has been received national and international certificates in Leadership, management, and Governance (LMG), Conflict management, Public-private partnership (PPP), and “Hospital administration for developing country, from China, Shanghai and he experienced in publishing articles. He was strongly worked with international organizations on health system development.
Dr. Shimelis Legesse's areas of interest are Health reproduces health and maternal health /RMNCH, nursing and midwifery professional development, and human resource development for health and quality of healthcare improvement.
