Dr. Valery L. Denisenko is Chief Medical Officer at Vitebsk Regional Clinical Specialized Center, and Associate Professor at the Department of General Surgery, Vitebsk State Medical University, Belarus. He defended his thesis in surgery on “Treatment of Pilonidal Sinus Complicated with Abscess” and obtained the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine in 2007 and in 2020, he defended the postdoctoral dissertation “Minimally Invasive Endoscopic Technologies in Comprehensive Treatment of Colorectal Cancer Surgical Complications”. He has 4 patents for modeling low colonic obstruction in laboratory animals, treatment of enteral insufficiency syndrome in the setting of obturation colonic obstruction, and 2 patents for the delivery system and development of the colorectal stent of Belarusian production.
Dr. Valery L. Denisenko's research interest focuses on introducing minimally invasive endoscopic techniques into practice for managing left-sided colorectal cancer complicated with colonic obstruction (laser-based methods, stenting) and using laser-based techniques for managing coccygeal and perianal fistulas.
