I am currently an associate professor and clinical coordinator for the Medical Sonography program at Nova Southeastern University (NSU). Ultrasound is widely utilized in many medical specialties, which provided for opportunities to work with the Optometry, Physician Assistant, and Medical School programs offered at NSU. These opportunities offered research inclusive of presentations publications, poster presentations as well as simulation activities. The range of subjects is varied and includes such topics as retinitis pigmentosa and outcomes of multiple interprofessional activities between the Medical Sonography and Medical School students in POCUS activities. In addition, lectures were provided in correlating an echocardiogram with the interpretation of understanding an ECG to PA students.
Ultrasound is widely used among so many medical specialties that I participate in any opportunity that becomes available to apply sonography.
