Dr. Suresh Kishanrao popularly known as Dr. K. Suresh is holding an MD in Preventive and Social Medicine and has a PG Diploma in Industrial Health. Starting his carrier with the Health& FW Department of Karnataka, in 1968, he joined UNICEF in 1989, from where he retired as Senior Program Officer, Health, in 2006. Post-retirement has been leading community-based research for WHO, World Bank, and UNICEF at New Delhi Country Office and several States in India plus Bhutan and Azerbaijan and Private companies like Price Water House, AMALTAs Asia. Dr. Suresh is currently, a visiting Professor for MPH courses in Karnataka State Rural Development University, Rajiv Gandhi Health University and IIHMR Bengaluru, and a couple of other Academic Institutes. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Institute of Health Management and Research (IHMR), Bangalore, and a Member of the Academic Council and Board of Studies of Karnataka State Rural Development University. He is a Founder Member of the Urban Health Society of India since 2012, Life Member of several Professional Bodies such as the Indian Medical Association, South Delhi, the International Union of Health Education, etc. He is an honorary fellow of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics (FIAP), Indian Public Health Association (FIPHA), and Indian School of Malaria and other Communicable Diseases (FISCD) and has been awarded the Best Community Health Professional by the Karnataka Association of Community Health in 2013. He has published over a hundred papers in national & international journals, a dozen of them related Covid 19 pandemic & has encouraged 20 PG scholars of MPH in publishing online articles
