Biography

Dr. Vijay Pandey is an Associate Professor in the Department of Veterinary Biochemistry, College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Veterinary University (DUVASU), Mathura, India. He did his Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry from College of Veterinary and Animal Science, Rajasthan Agricultural University (RAU), Bikaner in the year 2001. He did a Master’s in Veterinary Biochemistry (same RAU, 2004) and a Ph. D from Veterinary University (DUVASU) of Mathura, India, in 2018. He started his academic career in 2004 as Assistant Professor, Department of Veterinary Biochemistry from Apollo College of Veterinary Medicine, RAU, Jaipur (2004-2205). He served as Head of the Division of Veterinary Biochemistry, Faculty of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Science and Technology-Jammu (SKUAST-J), Jammu, India, 2005-2009. Then as Senior Assistant Professor in Department of Veterinary Biochemistry, College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Veterinary University (DUVASU), Mathura, India, 2009-2018 and Associate Faculty in College of Biotechnology, Mathura, India, 2010-2017. From 2018 until the present, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Veterinary Biochemistry, College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Veterinary University (DUVASU), Mathura, India. Up to now, he has more than 100 publications to his credit as research papers, review articles, clinical articles, and lead papers. He has also authored a book, book chapter, and abstracts/papers presented in various national and international conferences and seminars. He has also authored various teaching practical manuals for Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses of Veterinary Science and Biotechnology to date. He is also an associate editor/member of the editorial board of various journals of national and international repute. Moreover, he is a regular reviewer of various national and international peer-reviewed journals. He has been awarded the Best Teacher Award, Best Research Paper Awards, Best Poster Awards in various National conferences and seminars. He has guided several postgraduate students of Veterinary Biochemistry and Biotechnology. He is also a member of various scientific associations and societies in India.


Research Interest

The research interest of Dr. Vijay Pandey focuses on molecular-based proteomic analysis of biological fluids of animals (urine, semen, ovarian follicular fluid). His special interest in the molecular genetics of adipocytokines and their association with production and reproduction traits of dairy animals. Earlier he had worked on clinical biochemistry of various diseases of domestic animals: Bovine mastitis, Ecto and Endo Parasitic infestation, Stress biomarker, etc. Presently he is working on proteome analysis of canine tumors (specifically Canine Mammary Tumor).
