Biography

Dr. Jigyasa Rana earned her B.V.Sc & A.H. degree from Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh in 2013. Thereafter she has completed her Master's degree program and obtained M.V.Sc. in 2015 from the Department of Veterinary Anatomy, G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. The author has completed her Ph.D. in the Discipline of Veterinary Anatomy and Histology, at Nagpur Veterinary College, M.A.F.S.U., Nagpur in 2018. She has worked as Teaching Personnel in G.B.P.U.A.T., Pantnagar for few months and Veterinary Assistant Surgeon from 2018 to 2019 for a period of around 1.5 years in the Madhya Pradesh Animal Husbandry Department. At present, she is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Veterinary Anatomy, FVAS, Rajiv Gandhi South Campus, Banaras Hindu University, Barkachha. She is a life member of 4 national scientific societies. She has also qualified ICAR-NET Examination during 2016. She has got AIR-1 in the ICAR-SRF examination in 2016 and was awarded ICAR-SRF. She has been awarded the Young Scientist Award by SBSRD, Prayagraj (U.P.) in 2018, and the Research Excellence Award by the Institute of scholars in 2020. She has authored two books and more than 35 research papers in National and International Journals. She is having 5 years of research experience including an M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. along with teaching experience of 1.5 years as an assistant professor. Dr. Jigyasa Rana's research interests are Veterinary Anatomy, Histology, Avian Histology, Development of harderian gland, Histochemistry, Micrometry, Histoenzymology, Electron microscopy, Embryology, Gross anatomy, Microbiology, Species identification from hair and meat.
