Dr. Onyedika Okoye is trauma and general surgeon based in Abuja, Nigeria. He is currently enrolled as the head of trauma and coordinator of National Trauma Centre, National Hospital Abuja, Nigeria. He is listed as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), a fellow of the international college of surgeons (FICS), a fellow of the West African college of surgeons (FWACS), a fellow of the national postgraduate medical college of Nigeria (FMCS). He is also listed as a member of the international society of surgery (ISS), a member of the international association for trauma surgery and intensive care (IATSIC), European society for trauma and emergency surgery (ESTES), African federation of emergency medicine (AFEM), American heart association (AHA) instructors network and American association for the surgery of trauma (AAST) amongst others. He has vast training and experience in acute trauma including pre-hospital care and war surgery. Besides practising trauma, he instructs a variety of trauma and emergency medicine courses. He is a course director of the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course in Nigeria.
