Biography

Dr. Estela Guardado Yordi is a Professor in the Department of Food Science and Technology at the University of Camaguey Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz, Cuba. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Science at Camaguey University, Cuba, and a Master of Science in Science and Technology in Food at Havana University, Cuba. She earned a Ph.D. in Science and Technology in Chemistry at Santiago de Compostela University, Spain. She has been awarded Academic Science as collaborated in 2012. She was President of a Bachelor's degree in Food Science in the oriental region of Cuba. Member of the Association for Food Science and Technology (ACTAC). Member of the Polyphenols Group. Member of the Cuban Society of Pharmacology (SCF). Member of the Latin American Association of Pharmacology (ALF). Member of the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR). Member of the Cuban Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences.


Research Interest

Prof. Estela Guardado Yordi is interested in fields of research that are Functional foods, Medicinal Chemistry and Quimioinformatic. His present research focuses on searching for bioactive compounds type polyphenols with pro/antioxidant activity to use as alternatives to treat human chronic diseases.
