Professor Giustino Varrassi is a former professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine in the University of L’Aquila, Italy. At the moment, he is the president of the Paolo Procacci Foundation, Roma, Italy, where he also chairs the Department of Research. Between others, he is the Editor in Chief of Pain and Therapy (IF 5.526), is Section Editor for Anesthesia and Pain of the journal Advances in Therapy (IF 3.871) and serves in the editorial board of several other scientific journals.

Professor Varrassi's area of scientific interests is mainly pain management, including the pharmacology of analgesics. He is also interested in several aspects of research in anesthesia.
