Dr. Prem Ramasamy is a structural biologist based in the Greater Boston area, USA. He is currently working as a Research Specialist II at the Department of Biochemistry, Brandeis University. He is editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Pharma and Bio Sciences and serving in editorial board member of several international peer-reviewed journals. He has been working on understanding the mechanism of several different proteins, notably on terpene synthases, enzymes involved in the committed step in terpene biosynthetic pathways, as well as a newly discovered rhodopsin-guanylyl cyclase, a fusion protein is of particular interest because of its use in optogenetic studies.
Dr. Prem Ramasamy's area of interests includes terpenes, terpene synthases, visual transduction pathway proteins, and phosphatases.
