Dr. Augusto Lopes Souto is graduated in Pharmacy by Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB, Brazil), with a specialization at Industrial Pharmacy by the same university along with Université de Grenoble, France. He had his Master´s degree by UFPB in Natural Products, focused on classical phytochemistry. P.h.D also in Natural Products, concentrated in plant metabolomics, by UFPB and Universidade de São Paulo (USP). A former professor of Universidade de Brasília (UnB, Brazil), he has ministered disciplines such as Pharmacognosy, Medicinal Plants, and Pharmacoeconomics. Worked as a Post-doctoral researcher of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Agency (EMBRAPA, Brasília, Brazil), aiming to improve the biodiesel production chain, using Elaeis Guineensis as raw material, as well as using metabolomic tools to solve the anomaly observed at this species (fatal yellowing). Also worked as a post-doctoral researcher of the Laboratory of Cosmetics from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN, Brazil) obtaining and characterizing phytoingredients to develop cosmetics based on natural raw materials. Currently working as Visiting Professor at UFPB. His main expertise involves Multivariate Data Analysis, NMR, MS, HPLC, UHPLC, GC, and tandem techniques.
Dr. Augusto Lopes Souto's area of interests includes medicinal plants, phytochemistry, 1H, and 13C Nuclear Magnetic Resonance. plant metabolomics, drug production, HPLC, UHPLC, GC, and it's tandem techniques.
