Biography

Dr. Muhammad Jahangir Hossen is a Professor (full) of the Department of Animal Science at Patuakhali Science & Technology University (PSTU), Bangladesh since October 18, 2018. He has been working as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong for 2 years. He received his Ph.D. (Genetic Engineering) from the Dept. of Biotechnology and Bioengineering, Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea. He pursued his post-graduation degree (MS in Animal Science) with the First position and graduation in Bachelor of Science in Animal Husbandry (4 years course) with the position of First Class Fourth from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Bangladesh. Due to his extraordinary performance, he honored by 3 most prestigious awards in South Korea such as outstanding foreign student (Ph.D.) scholar (2013-2014), SKKU; KEB Global Scholar 2013; WooJung Education & Culture Foundation scholar 2014-2015 ( 4 times). Besides 14 years of teaching and research experience, he worked as a Manager (Poultry) in Bangladesh Branch in the institute of IIRD/ an organization of USA and also working in SLDP-2 and PLDP-2/projects of DANIDA. His research plays significant roles in the livestock and poultry principally rural poultry development in Bangladesh. Dr. Hossen has one Korean patent, published one book chapter from the USA, and 34 articles as a first author 21 (SCI-19, as a first author 13). He has been serving as an Editorial Board member 8 renowned journals including Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine (eCAM) [Impact factor; 2018: 1.984]. He also works as a peer reviewer of many SCI journals including the Journal of Ethnopharmacology, Journal of Ginseng Research, Mediators of Inflammation, European Journal of Pharmacology, Molecular Immunology, etc.
