Professor Bakenaz A. Zeidan got her Ph.D degree entitled “A Numerical (FEM) Study of the Effect of Anisotropy on Phreatic Seepage Flows" in 1993, from IIT Bombay, India. She was the Head of Water Department since 2003 till 2012. She teaches both undergraduate and graduate civil engineering students; courses related to water engineering and numerical modeling. She has more than 50 International published papers covering scientific research and high education reform, Nile water conflict, seepage, groundwater quality modeling, FEM simulation of seismic dam design and analysis, dam-reservoir-foundation coupled systems. She participates in more than 80 scientific events. She supervises more than 25 M.Sc and Ph.D dissertations. She is an Active member of NGWA, ICOLD, USSD and many other scientific organizations. She is also a peer reviewer for International water journals. She is an Editorial board member for E-Cronicon and also Board member in Egyptian wing of Delta Alliance and Foundation Delta Alliance International. She is Founder of Tanta University Water Research and Technology Centre TUWRTC.
